[Qui-Gon isn't going to hide the truth from Glitch. Not when it's laid there, literally, in front of him. It would only hurt in the longrun, and they'd both need as much time as possible to heal. They can't start until as many details as possible are presented to them.]
[That doesn't make it any easier.]
These Younglings were struck down by a lightsaber--and not one yielded by a trooper.
[Because even the smallest Padawan wouldn't fall to an elegant weapon wielded by someone with no training.]

[ He can only look up in bewilderment when those words are said. A light saber did this. Glitch turns back to look and then see's it for himself. Lightsaber burns across their torsos.
What's more is that Qui-Gon confirms quickly that a trooper didn't grab a hold of a saber and do this. His eyes widen in horror. Did one of their own turn on them?
But, he doesn't have time to even think of that when the distant sounds of blasters ring from down the hallway.
They were close. Looking back to the children, Glitch clenches his teeth, his body shaking. Anger, sadness, fear. All of it bubbling in his chest. So much so it was cracking the ground around him.
But, he rose to his feet quickly. ]
We've got to get out of here.

[Qui-Gon moves for the exit, his sharp eyes scanning the hallways as he considers their options.]
If we can make it to the Room of A Thousand Fountains, we can escape through the water system. They won't look for us there.
[He turns back to glance at Glitch.]
I won't let them hurt you. Let's go.

We'll protect each other. [ Because, seeing Jedi he knew die before him, he wanted to at least not being alone. Who knows how many would survive and he took no comfort in the idea of being a sole survivor. ]
[ With the hall clear for this moment, Glitch pointed towards the one to their right. ]
That'll be the fastest route. I don't think I hear any blaster fire.
[ With that he cautiously moved out into the hall and began running as quietly as he could, hoping Qui-Gon would still be there if they made their escape. ]

[Qui-Gon trusts Glitch to lead, knowing fully that just as any other Jedi, he would have extensive knowledge of the Temple's many nooks and crannies. As a Padawan, he may know of some that Qui-Gon doesn't—and vice versa, since they would have found secret hiding spots popular between different generations.]
[He keeps his lightsaber secure in his palm and focuses on keeping his breathing as silent as his footfalls. Occasionally, he places a hand on Glitch's shoulder, a show of solidarity as much as a sign that he's still there with him.]

As Glitch leads, they start going down the more interesting of short cuts. Especially when they seem to go over or through sections of the temple a padawan probably shouldn't have gone through. As Glitch leads them through a bend in the corridor towards what appears to be a very old and clearly unused in a very long time. ]
No one's been through this area for a long time, but it leads just above the room of a thousand fountains. [ There's a pause as he looks back at Qui-Gon. ]
I snuck out a lot. [ Might as well be honest if they're going to die. Waving his hand over the door he uses the force to open it. ]
It's narrow so you'll need to duck. [ And in he goes. ]

[Qui-Gon's response is dry, but he is grateful for Glitch's knowledge. He follows along with ease, ducking and weaving when necessary. He's large and broad-shouldered, but he moves with the grace of a dancer, thanks to decades of training and practice.]
And where do we go from here?
